Disney Pic of the Week – Downtown Disney

Light Meter by Lisa K. Berton

Walt Disney World’s main shopping and dining district is comprised of three sections that make up Downtown Disney. West Side is the home of Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba show, video and virtual game destination DisneyQuest, hot air balloon ride Characters in Flight, and celebrity-owned restaurants. In the center sits Pleasure Island which is currently awaiting its makeover. Shops include Harley-Davidson, Curl, and Design-A-Tee. The most popular place to eat is Raglan Road, an Irish pub. Lastly, Marketplace is a Disney fans shopping fantasy with small stores specializing in everything from paintings to pins and board games to bath towels. A vast array of dining options include Fulton’s Crab House, Portobello, and Earl of Sandwich.

Team Mickey Athletic Club carries exactly what you’d expect, given it’s name. Located in the Marketplace, those hoping to go pro (and the rest of us) can gear up in MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL shirts, hats, and accessories. Don’t worry, Mickey and his pals also get into the act.
