2011 Disneyland Half Marathon – The Results

I’ll have a more detailed half marathon report tomorrow – it’s been a long and busy day. After the race this morning we spent time in the parks and saw World of Color tonight, so I haven’t had time to write anything up yet.

The important part is that Lee and I both finished the 2011 Disneyland Half Marathon and earned both our Disneyland medal and our Coast-to-Coast medal! His time was 2:16:04, his best Disney time ever (since he wasn’t running with me I wasn’t slowing him down by taking photos!) And, very important, his knees didn’t bother him. My time was 3:07:58, but since I was walking it (mostly – we ran a little bit), I was very happy with that – and I felt great the whole time – better than I’ve ever felt when I ran an entire race. But we’re both pretty tired tonight.

Laura Gilbreath is a native of San Diego, CA. She has been making the trek up Interstate 5 to Disneyland since she was a small child and terrified of talking tikis and hitchhiking ghosts. She and her husband Lee enjoy trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as sailings on the Disney Cruise Line.
