Meeting a Disney Mom

I had the pleasure of meeting a Disney Mom, Andi, and most of her family at The Mara eatery, Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Walt Disney World Moms Panel is an online forum of vacation advisors made up of moms (and dads) who answer questions and offer advice to families who are planning a trip to Disney World.

I’ve met a few of these folks, and they’re a remarkable and intelligent lot, and of course, quite knowledgeable about Disney World. Andi was no exception! Her children are Caroline (12), William (9), and Harrison (6). (I didn’t get to meet Zach (15) or her husband Scott). Lucky for me, Andi and her family enjoy hunting for Hidden Mickeys!

Andi provided all the photos in this report.

We looked for Hidden Mickeys around the Animal Kingdom Lodge. In this photo, we’re standing by a classic Mickey cut into the rock wall behind the swimming pool’s water slide.

In the next photo, Harrison points to a classic Mickey made of stones on the rear of the short wall behind The Mara seating area.

I pointed out a classic Mickey inside the main lobby, near the bottom of the second chandelier on the right (as you face in from the front entrance). The Hidden Mickey is near the bottom of one of the shields on the chandelier.

Later, Andi explored The Boneyard at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park with another Disney Mom, Dannee. With their arms, Dannee and Andi frame a classic Mickey on the right side of the children’s dig area. In a small display, a fan and two hard hats form the Hidden Mickey.

It was a pleasure for me to meet Andi and her family. Disney has hit another home run with the Disney Moms Panel!
