Saving Main Street

Focus on Disney World by Barrie Brewer

Main Street Windows

Although I have many pictures of the Main Street windows in the Magic Kingdom, none of them are very good. I took these in the worst possible light, so the exposure is bad and there are terrible shadows and reflections. You can even see the reflection of yours truly in most all of them.

For Pic of the Week, I decided to see what I could do to make my not-so-great photos seem a little more interesting. This is what Photoshop and I came up with – you be the judge.

  1. What a great idea! Seen individually I don’t think about the differences in window styles and color. This collage truely shows the variety of Disney imagination!

  2. I love it! We may have to try something like this on our next trip.

And, I didn’t notice the flaws until you pointed them out.

  3. Hi Barrie,

I think they look fantastic in this poster configuration! The grid arrangement of the photos mimics the grid patterns in the windows themselves, and the color palette of all of them together is so pleasing (especially the nice range of soothing greens). It makes me feel like I’ve just taken a stroll down Main Street. Good show!
