My example of selective focus is this photo of the marble stones outside of China‘s Temple of Heaven in Epcot’s World Showcase. This type of photography works very well when you want to highlight the wonderful detail that makes Disney parks stand out from other theme parks.

    Barrie’s reply: Check out Lisa’s from Tuesday explaining how to do selective focus.

    For this particular shot, I was a little ways away, down on one knee and zoomed in. That’s why the pillars look so close together. It also gave me a nice blur that way, even though my aperature was at f/9. If I had not zoomed in, at f/9, there would have been a lot more of the surroundings in the shot and most everything would have been in focus.
