Disney Pic of the Week – United Kingdom

Light Meter by Lisa K. Berton

Welcome to the United Kingdom, chaps. We have plenty to offer our visitors. Why we have a pub where you can enjoy some bangers and mash or fish & chips. I must say, the ale is kept cold for you, the tourist. We Brits normally drink ours at room temperature. Step lightly into our fine shoppes for children’s toys, football shirts, tea, and perfume. Around the back you’ll discover different types of architecture and a group of mop tops singing in the gazebo. We have something for everyone, even the punks from Kings Road and Carnaby Street.

With all that the UK has to offer visually you might wonder why I’m using this photo of candy bars. I’ll tell you. When I was a kid my family and I visited London several times to see my dad’s best friend. One of the things I loved was that their ice cream cones were served with a Cadbury Flake in them. My brother and I thought this was phoenominal. Although this shot doesn’t include them, it reminds me of those trips and that my friend, is sweet.

  1. Cadbury chocolate is the best! One of my fave things about living in England – ha ha! Can’t beat ice cream in the summer with a Flake in it – we call them ’99s’ over here. Yummy!!!

  2. The ice-cream with a flake in is a “99”! I love that you go crazy for our choccie, cuz I do the same for your Skittles and red vines!

  3. When we visit the UK at DW I always have to get a Cadbury Crunchie bar. They are my very favorite British candy and I just found out where I can buy them locally here in central PA!

  4. I LOVE CADBURY!!! I am so glad that you picked this to be your pic of the week! I could eat Curly Wurlies every single day and be happy!

  5. This blog made me smile. When we come over the pond to WDW we look for Reese’s Cups, all things Ghirardelli, Mickey Waffles, Aunt Jemima’s Maple and of course we canot have a trip without at least one Dole Whip.

On a recent trip to Costco (near where I live in UK), I almost hyper-ventilated when I found Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. Also my local corner shop stock Reese’s Cups…

    Bliss!
